What is the story on documentary “doc” fees and what is the big deal?

Doc fees were “invented” in the 1990’s to give dealers creative ways to make money, without actually earning it. What started as a simple small “add on” used to pay for dealer expenses (with absolutely NOTHING of value in return for the customer) has now grown into a bloated fee charged at the closing of your vehicle. You have negotiated a great deal on a car and now you have to pay 500-700 dollars more?

These practices are outrageous and borderline robbery from you, the customer. Whether you buy from us or not, please hold your purchasing dealer accountable for the fee and have them justify it which should be very difficult.
